Learning activities at home

Here are some photos of learning at home in our house. Please send me some photos of you at home!!!  amadell@owairaka.school.nz  I will put them onto the blog.

First of all, we were seeing what would sink and float in water. Then we started making a raft to float in water. We decided that the sticks would be a good material to use.

Doing some reading at home.

Off to our sports lesson - lining up to play cricket across the road.

Green Week and Howick Historical Village Week 4

Wow! What an amazing week we've had. Green week with a talk from Ocean Explorers and a trip to Howick Historical Village.

At the assembly we saw lots of videos and photos of the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park. What an amazing place that we need to look after. There is a really interesting website  - youngoceanexplorers.com where you can watch some videos about our oceans.

Howick Historical Village gave us the experiences of making butter - it was delicious!, dressing up in Victorian clothes and a chance to be in a school from the 1800's - it was very strict. We also had a chance to look around the Village at the various old buildings.

Many children had a enjoyable rest on the way home!

Week 3 Room 14

We started PMP this week. It is  a great chance for the children to learn different movements and gross motor skills. We also continue our music. The students love the Big Banana song, and we have been having a go at different instruments such as castanets, drums and triangles. Students enjoy making things and dressing up druing our Friday Discovery Time.
