We were very lucky to have Tigilau Ness come to Owairaka School. All of Kauri team have been reading Dawn Raids, and one of the characters in the book was based on Tigilau. He spoke about his early life and experiences and the Polynesian Panthers. We also got a chance to listen to some songs. It was a fantastic experience.
A saying from Tigilau is "Educate to Liberate".

It was very fun, I had a good time. I liked singing the songs with him and he was funny at times when he was answering the question.

ReplyDeletewhen i went up in front of kauri team i felt that i was going to drop the mic i was facing tigi he was facing me my lips were shaking so i just said what i needed to say and i did it i was not nervous when i said it.Im proud of myself.But then tigi was saying a 12 year old girl joanne died in a fire.He also said he wrote this song for her and that song made me a bit cry but the good news is that she is in heaven.After the song he said to kauri team if we could spit us up and tested us who is the loudest he said to repeat what he says and that song was called get up stand up.And yeah thats all i have to say.
