After reading the book Kepapa Huarākau (Fruit Kebabs) during Te Wiki o te Reo Maori we decided to make some in our last week of term. We invited Room 23 our buddy class to join us. We had so much fun making and then eating them!!

Term 3 Week 9 - Police dogs & clay pottery
What a fun week! We had a visit from some police dogs and learnt heaps of interesting things. Police Dogs are German Shepards. They can run 65km per hour! They have a great sense of smell and their main role is to track. They are trained until they are 2 years old and then continue working until they are about 8 years old.
We were also very lucky to have Fiona and Darren, parents at the school, come in and show us how to do some clay pottery. We made pinch pots, coil pots and then anything we wanted. We are looking forward to the results once they have been in the kiln.Saturday, September 17, 2022
Term 3 Week 8 Te Wiki o te Reo Māori
We had fun during Te Wiki o te Reo Māori learning a new phrase each day. We also read lots of books in Māori and sang some songs.
We also had Wheels day on Rāpare. Kids, scooters, bikes and skateboards everywhere.

Term 3 Week 7 Tongan Language Week
We really enjoyed Tongan Language week. We sung some Tongan songs and practised a couple of Tongan phrases.
We also had a visit from some students who showed some of the taonga from their families. We also enjoyed wearing Tongan shirts or bright clothing on Friday.
